Hi there,
We hope you’re having a great summer so far.
Our mid summer update begins with a quick look at some stand out moments. Perhaps the best of the bunch was Pauline Ferrand-Prévot becoming the first Frenchwoman in 36 years to win the Tour de France Femmes: taking the yellow jersey with a bold solo attack on the Col de la Madeleine before consolidating victory on the final stage. It's a full-circle moment of grit, comeback, and home-grown triumph if ever there was one.
Closer to home, many cyclists in our community have written to us with examples of their personal triumphs. Thank you for writing. We enjoy reading every one of your emails. We wrote a short blog post about one particular success at the Matlock Hill Climb which you can read here. It was great to see our x Pro handlebars put to the test.
We also got a great response to our photo competition and have featured some of the best examples of your custom builds on our website. We still have a few more Onyx integrated bars to give away, so do please continue to send your builds featuring our parts to us: hello@litebike.cc
In other news. We recently launched a 2nd Gen TPU inner tube. We were noticing some durability issues with the valves on earlier versions, which we have tried to fix.
This is surprisingly difficult. Because TPU is thinner than butyl, more stress concentrates around the valve base which has to be bonded to the TPU film (rather than moulded as part of the tube like with butyl). Our 2nd Gen version has a stronger bonding between the valve and the tube.
Looking ahead, we are working on a carbon wheelset which we hope will be ready in time for the 2026 season. There is still a lot to work out on the design, as well as finding a partner to provide a premium freehub. We’ll keep you updated as we make progress.
We continue to draw inspiration from principles of simple, elegant design in the spirit of Dieter Rams and championed by the likes of the Design Council and the iF Design Awards. And we continue to strive to bring you components that aren’t just about high-performance, but are intuitive and effortless to use, reflecting how the best designs disappear into seamless function.
If you would like to get in touch please feel free to reach out (hello@litebike.cc). We now also have a small presence on social media. Do feel free to add us on instagram and fb and, as ever, thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes,
