Colina Bikes x Litebike: Onyx Goes Team
Earlier this year we spotted our Onyx integrated handlebars featured on a build by Colina Bikes, a Sheffield-based frame builder whose Abanicos range has quietly built a serious following among weight-conscious road cyclists.
Colina were putting together the Abanicos Team — a new race-oriented frameset developed in partnership with the Colina x Ciovita Race Team for 2026 — and chose the Onyx as part of the cockpit. What caught our eye was what they did with it: rather than running the bars in their standard raw carbon finish, Colina had the Onyx custom painted to match the Team's livery.
We had no hand in the paintwork — that's all Colina's doing — but it's genuinely great to see the Onyx being used as a canvas in this way. The bars sit flush with the frame's colour scheme, and the integrated design does what it's supposed to do: clean up the front end without drawing attention to itself.
It's a good reminder that carbon doesn't have to mean raw. If you're working on a frame-up build and want a matching cockpit, the Onyx takes paint well and is well worth considering.
